The 22-year-old tennis player Emma Raducanu ends this year's campaign and will keep trainer for 2026.
The British player made it to the third stage in three of the four Grand Slams this year.
Britain's Emma Raducanu has withdrawn from her final two events this season as a result of the illness she has been battling over the past 10 days.
At 22 years old was scheduled to compete in tournaments in Tokyo and Hong Kong but chose to travel back to rest and recuperate before starting her preparations for 2026.
These plans will include coach Francisco Roig, as the pair will keep partnering in 2026.
She underwent blood pressure monitoring in her opening round versus Ann Li in the Wuhan tournament and withdrew when losing 6-1 4-1 on an oppressively humid day.
Another medical visit was necessary medical attention at the recent Ningbo Open, where she lost in three sets to Chinese wildcard Zhu Lin in the opening round.
Raducanu was also moving with clear difficulty in the deciding set versus Zhu due to a lower back issue that has troubled her during parts of the season.
Those results signaled a promising season, in which she climbed into the world's top 30 after more than three years for the first time since 2022, finished with a trio of defeats.
Raducanu had three match points before losing to American player Jessica Pegula in the third stage in Beijing last month.
Raducanu won 28 victories during 2025 and advanced to the semis in the Washington tournament, but her most impressive week was at the Miami event in March.
Ranked first in Britain made the last eight of a premier WTA event, beating eighth seed Emma Navarro en route prior to a loss in three sets to the world number four Pegula.
She worked with trainer Mark Petchey from Miami until Wimbledon, with Roig taking over for the US Open.
The original arrangement with the former trainer of Nadal was through the season's conclusion but the collaboration persists, with planned training sessions for the end of the year.
Raducanu told that the trial session alongside Roig after Wimbledon was like a "secret mission" as the meeting was kept under wraps.
The player was close to defeating top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka at their first tournament together in Cincinnati in August.
Roig joined her in the New York tournament, where she reached the third round before being beaten by Elena Rybakina, the 2022 Wimbledon winner.
